Moulin Rouge has been my favorite movie from the moment I finished watching the movie for the first time. The sets, the costumes, Kidman & McGregor, all perfection. The Orphean Myth has a way of pulling at my heartstrings no matter how I see it played out, but this retelling in particular struck me. Now, with my dear friend Rachel in the lead role, I get a chance to make a fan project out of it. ​

My intention is for this project to be a fully crowd funded one. Much like my Greenleaves project, patrons will have the opportunity to become part of the art and contribute financially and be rewarded. Tiers and rewards will be revealed soon, but for now I am taking interest and applications for the following roles ONLY:

Christian -  A penniless writer who comes to Paris to make his fortune. 
*We are particularly interested in casting someone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community or a female performer for this role. All are still welcome to apply. 

Harold Zidler - the flamboyant, money driven leader of the Moulin Rouge
 

Toulouse- based on the real-life Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. A bohemian who frequents the Moulin Rouge
 

The Argentinian- a narcoleptic performer who leads the iconic Tango Roxanne (dance skill a must)
 

Can Can and Tango Dancers- the denizens of the Moulin Rouge
 

Understudies for Satine & Christian- the lead roles. These people will be background characters unless they are asked to step in if there is an emergency or our leads can no longer perform


All characters will be styled in the traditional way they are seen in the movie.
